  Mr. Wakely Winter Feast

Traditionally, Robert and Mary Wakely had a dinner party in February. It was an opportunity to share a good meal and conversation with their neighbors.  People came from up and down the river to enjoy a time of merriment and music.  The citizens of Point Basse re enact the Wakely’s celebration with a grand dinner.  The banquet consists of ham and chicken meats, venison, vegetables, potatoes, bread, beverages,and Tom’s Bread Pudding is a traditional favorite dessert.

A delicious banquet, traditional foods, plus wild game and other foods.

The Winter Feast includes a gathering during which hot apple cider and snacks are served.

Then comes the program which includes story telling, skits, dancing (folk, waltz's & polkas), and singing. Contemporary dress welcome; costumes appreciated.

Musical entertainment may
consist of a folk singer or a
musical group for singing
and dancing.
